North Berkeley Farmers' Market
The North Berkeley Farmers' Market runs Thursday afternoons, 3:00–7:00 PM, year-round at Shattuck Avenue and Vine Street. It is one of three certified farmers' markets operated by Berkeley's Ecology Center — a program founded in 1987 that was among the first certified farmers' markets in California and the first in the country to ban plastic bags. Everything sold is grown in California by the farms selling it, with organic growers prioritized and GMO crops barred; the market accepts CalFresh EBT and matches benefit spending dollar-for-dollar up to $15 through Market Match.
Available products: Fresh fruits; Fresh vegetables; Baked goods; Cut flowers; Eggs; Fish/seafood; Fresh/dried herbs; Honey; Juices/non-alcoholic ciders; Mushrooms; Nuts; Poultry/fowl meat and products; Prepared foods; Red/other non-poultry meat and products.
